What to know before you order
Start from wherever you are
Some projects arrive as an idea, some as a sketch, some with CAD files ready. We take any of them to a finished, manufacturable design: 3D modelling, file preparation for CNC, laser or 3D printing, and changes for both function and looks.
Prototype, test, revise
Design work is iterative. A 3D-printed prototype in your hand answers questions a screen cannot — whether it fits, whether it is stiff enough, whether it feels right — and a revision costs little. Our layered portrait sign went through several layer stacks before the profile read clearly from across a room.
The same shop designs and builds, so the file is made for the machine that will cut or print it. Our wireless jog pendant went from enclosure to circuit board to firmware in-house.
What you end up with
Tell us the output you need — a print-ready prototype, production files or finished parts — and the quantity, from a one-off to a production run.
What to send
Accepted formats: .step, .stp, .stl, .dxf, .pdf, .png, .jpg
- If you have CAD, send STEP — or STL for a print, DXF for a flat part.
- If you do not, a sketch with measurements, or photos of the part you are replacing, is enough to start.
- Tell us where you are (idea, sketch or CAD ready) and what you want to end up with.
Common questions
I only have an idea. Can you help?
Yes. Projects start as an idea, a sketch or CAD files. Tell us which, along with what the product needs to do, and we take it from there.
What files can I send?
The quote form takes STEP, STL, DXF, PDF, PNG, JPG and WebP files — up to five, 10 MB each.
Can you prototype before a production run?
Yes. A printed prototype is often the cheapest way to test fit and feel before committing to a run.
Can you also make the finished product?
Often, yes. The same shop cuts, prints, engraves and wires, so the design can go straight to CNC, laser or 3D printing here.
