Custom orders & payment

Full payment is required before production begins on all custom orders. We do not start cutting, engraving, printing, or building until payment is received in full. We accept e-transfer, debit, and credit, plus cash for local pickup orders. For larger projects a written quote will specify the payment terms up front — if anything is unclear, ask before you pay.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Custom orders are final once the design is approved and payment is made. Because most of our work is made to order and cannot be resold, we are unable to accept changes or cancellations after production has started.

Your approval, your responsibility

Before we begin production, you will receive a proof, mockup, or written confirmation of your order details. It is your responsibility to carefully verify spelling, design, dimensions, and layout before approving. Once you approve a proof, we build to exactly what was approved. We are not responsible for errors (spelling mistakes, wrong measurements, incorrect colours, etc.) that were present in an approved proof.

Production timelines

Any timelines provided are estimates, not guarantees. We do our best to hit the dates we quote, but delays are possible during busy periods, for complex custom work, or due to material availability.

Material & wood variation

Wood is a natural material. Grain pattern, colour, knots, and finish will vary piece to piece — no two boards are identical, and photos or samples are representative, not an exact match guarantee. This is a feature of working in real wood, not a defect. The same applies to natural variation in slate, leather, and other organic materials we work with.

Intellectual property

Designs, artwork, and cut files created by The Boss Factory remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing, even when produced for a specific customer order. You're welcome to use the physical piece however you like — reproduction of our designs, cut files, or digital downloads for resale is not permitted without written permission. If you supply your own artwork or design for us to produce, you confirm you have the right to use it, and you're responsible for any third-party IP claims arising from it.

Limitation of liability

We build to the best of our ability with the tools and materials described in your quote. To the extent permitted by law, The Boss Factory is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use, misuse, or installation of a finished piece. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally as our shop and services change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our site or services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
